S.to Ippolito and Brunello: many awards on the way

We are pleased to share with our community of winelovers the latest wine awards that three of our most prestigious labels received in November:

• Villa da Vinci S.to Ippolito Toscana Rosso

• Leonardo da Vinci Brunello di Montalcino

• Da Vinci I Capolavori San Giovanni Battista Brunello di Montalcino

The critic Luca Maroni signs the “Annuario dei Migliori Vini Italiani 2021” wine guide, now in its 29th edition. Among the red wines defined as “the best of the best in Italy”, those awarded 99/100 point, appears our S.to Ippolito Toscana Rosso 2018 from the Villa da Vinci collection.
This Tuscan red wine is the result of Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah combination, whose grapes are carefully selected from the vineyards surrounding Villa da Vinci, on the Tuscan hills. An iconic taste like the art piece on its label: “The Annunciation”, a youthful masterpiece of the genius. A harmonious wine, which shows great consistency and balance right from the first sip, as well as a good taste-olfactory correspondence between aromas and varieties’ scents.

Like every autumn, the ranking and scores of the American James Suckling come out on the international wine scene. He is one of the most influential wine critics in the world, who particularly appreciated the aromatic and gustatory depth of our Brunellos. They were pleasantly described as follows:

San Giovanni Battista Brunello di Montalcino 2016 della collezione Da Vinci I Capolavori – 93/100

This is a structured, full-bodied red with sour cherries and cloves, as well as dark-chocolate and leather notes. Firm tannins. Tobacco and dried leaves on the long finish. Wait a few years for it to soften. Drink after 2024.

Brunello di Montalcino 2016 della collezione Leonardo Da Vinci – 93/100

“A rich Brunello with dark fruit, as well as chocolate and cedar. Orange peel underneath. It’s full-bodied and chewy with intense yet polished tannins. Juicy, fresh and long. Try after 2023.

Let’s raise our glasses and toast to these precious news! Cheers.
